Dids,

Yes, for sure on the airplane thing.

Otherwise, one of my common ones is thinking about what I'd do if a random passerbyer tried to mug me or something. So occasionally there's an urge for a preemptive strike, like just punching some shady looking person in advance. Haven't followed through on it yet.

I never did this until my father died in a small plane crash in '02, and now I do it quite a bit. He crashed in a twin with and instructor, and I wonder all the time about what he did after he realized the plane was going to hit something hard but before it actually did.

Tangent: the worst mistake of my adult lifetime was viewing his body.

Well, I've never gone off on a project manager, nor have I ever abrupty quit a job, so there is that.

The car-crashing when someone does something stupid on the freeway is most likely standard for anyone that's ever had any kind of commute (mine varied from 65-90 mi round-trip between 1996 and 2006).

When I see people running somewhere in a hurry, I get the impulse to lower my shoulder and slam into them.

Dibs, astro, nolan:

"Both astroglide and I have decided to believe that we can stop a plane crash with super powers we don't know exist now, but will manifest themselves when the time is right.

Is anyboyd else with us?"

This is a good one. Many times I have imagined getting a running start and just spear-tackling some guy jogging down the street for no reason.

The other day some bum comming off a bus slammed into this lady ahead of me in line. She just gave him a [censored] look and looked shocked as hell and I was like WTF GET ON THE BUS.

Then I thought what I would have done had it been me, and I imagine that it would have been something other than shrugging it off and getting on the bus.

I have also had occasional urges to throw one of my children from a high balcony. I once got that urge while sitting with my eldest daughter on the lanai on the 8th floor of what was then the Kahala Mandarin Oriental. It was so strong that I picked her up, took her inside, and slid the glass door shut.

It was really, really creepy. I was in no danger of actually executing on it, but it lasted for a minute, easy and it was quite powerful.

[/ QUOTE ]

Dude, I'm sorry to hear about your dad, it must have been (still is) hard on you. I am by no means an expert, but after reading 2 of your posts in this thread, I think you might need some help. A quick impulse to throw your child over a balcony is one thing, but it lasting over a minute, and it leading you to get away from the balcony can't be good. I don't mean to meddle, but it sounds like you obviously care for your kid, and you don't wanna ever do something you regret.

Diablo,

I'm not sure if superpowers is completely accurate, but I guess I'm pretty sure I could fly that bad boy if I had to.

Although I do wish I had superpowers!
