The current legal situation in the US is (a) temporary and (b) in the US. It's not a big deal to the future of poker. In my country there are no casino cash games and precious few tournaments. May sound strange to an American but it's far from unique. Everyone has broadband, though.

The current legal situation in the US may or may not be temporary. It's a big deal to the future of poker in the US.

The legal situation could be similar in almost any country in the future, broadband or not.

No, not really. Not without huge cultural shift in places where gambling is part of the lifestyle.
