The reason people on this forum don't like the commercials, is because of our personality types (educated, know-it-all, informed consumers). They aren't trying to win US over with their commercials, they're trying to win over a different intended audience. If they wanted to make what we'd think to be really sweet commercials, they could easily do it/afford it; but the commercials we would like generally would make the average viewer very upset/confused with the company. They stay in the most expensive hotels and eat at the most expensive restaurants, and then treat many of the hard-working people that are part of this business like utter crap who are barely fit to fetch their Starbucks. But really im just angry at the waste of all that time/money/talent etc put into the commercial. Picturing those guys in the boardroom going "yah yah put a monkey in the commercial...that [censored] always sells...brilliant...ship it...dollaz!!" drives me insane. -JP

[/ QUOTE ]yeah but there was a lot of sentiments in this thread like the guy that goes into marketing and says "and that's why I'm in marketing" after a bad commercial. I'm saying that he's going to be in for a rude awakening when he realizes that commercials he thinks stink are on the tv for a reason.

For the most part we DVR. Live TV bites. (Of course I'm always a week behind every thread about every show.)
I despise Bob the Enzyte guy and the Video Professor. If they come on live I'm definitely hitting the mute button. On the other hand we [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] the "I'm a Macc" commercials big time. It's only logical since we've been Mac forever. The Poker Mom

Those Army ads they've done recently make it seem like being in the service turns you into a pompous prick.
I especially hate that one where the guy comes back and hangs out with his old buddies in the backyard and says he works in computers. ugh.

Anyone else not like the new Jetta ad campaign where the people are just chatting about nothing and then get randomly blindsided. I know its supposed to show how safe Jetta's are but it just makes me associate the car with getting into crashes...I generally don't mind VW commercials but these ones bug me.
