Re: ***Official 2006 NLCS Cards v. Mets Thread***
Yes, 5 Games in a row is a huge break for the Cardinals. Now having only 3 starters hurts.

Re: ***Official 2006 NLCS Cards v. Mets Thread***
Blah, that rain was good news for the Cardinals. Glavine is going to have to go on 3 days rest now and the bullpen won't have an off day for games 1-5. Although, the Cards bullpen will be in the same boat.
What time is the game on Friday now? MLB.com says TBD, foxsports says Noon...? |

[ QUOTE ]
Reported that LaRussa will not move Carp up to game 2 and will keep rotation the same. [/ QUOTE ] anyone have confirmation one way or the other on this? edit: wow, from back-to-back paragraphs of a piece on STLtoday.com: La Russa sounded conflicted about whether he would leave his rotation intact or switch his scheduled Game 2 starter, Jeff Suppan, and Chris Carpenter, who is still set for Game 3. During a news conference La Russa sounded certain that the alignment would remain intact, citing the added pressure of the series' first game at Busch. that's just amazingly good editing. |

Re: ***Official 2006 NLCS Cards v. Mets Thread***
On 1st And Ten this morning, Skip Bayless was adamant that LaRussa should start Carp in games 1, 4, and 7. I just chuckled.
I've heard/read about Carp's one start in Shea (4-something ERA and a L?) and I'm worried that LaRussa will decree that that's sample enough and he won't start Carp in NYC. Ugh. |

[/ QUOTE ] to be fair, starting him in games 3 and 7 does maximize the chance he can go three games in the WS. it's similar to the decision not to start him in game 161. |

[/ QUOTE ] Answering my own question: "Friday's National League Championship Series game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Mets at Shea Stadium will be played at 8:05 p.m. (ET) and the Oakland Athletics-Detroit Tigers American League Championship Series Game 3 has been moved to 4:30 p.m. (ET), it was announced today. FOX Sports and ESPN Radio will carry the games live, coming on-air at 4:00 p.m. (ET) for the ALCS and 8:00 p.m. (ET) for the NLCS. " |

Re: ***Official 2006 NLCS Cards v. Mets Thread***
gotta love Fox
they have the NLCS play on night Friday on the East Coast before flying to the STL to play during the day Saturday. Oakland and Detroit has all the west coast fans who love watching the 4:30 EST start |

Re: ***Official 2006 NLCS Cards v. Mets Thread***
I was thinking the same exact thing. Obviously having the NY and STL teams play in primetime (as opposed to Oakland and Detroit) is worth more to them though. Still not exactly fair to the players or fans...
