u yanks are silly. how can something like this be passed as part of some defence law...?

[/ QUOTE ]

Because they can. It's as simple as that.

[ QUOTE ]
i dont get it i thought the bill was all about "securing ports" or something because you are all paranoid that the terrorist are coming!

[/ QUOTE ]

That's why they added it on to this particular bill - it would be politically bad for the opposition if they didn't vote for "port security" just before an election, so the ruling party inserts the "extras" into that bill at the very last minute, completely tying the opposition's hands.

And yes, the ruling party DOES like to keep us paranoid that the terrorists are coming. It's what has kept them in power.

Buzz, I can understand how you feel, and I sympathize with you, but please change that avatar.

I appologize if my Avatar offended anyone I hope you all know it was not meant to. Just a little backlash from me to make me feel a bit better about things. I will return to my previous Avatar but the location will stay.

[/ QUOTE ]

The Nazi stuff didn't offend me. It's just a tired, old criticism. And since it is so tired and old, it means nothing. It's supposed to be the ultimate insult but instead it just makes me say, 'meh, whatever.'

It's SO tired and old, I'm surprised people still get 'offended' over it.

So by that logic I guess you should say that calling someone an uppity tiger is ok now because it's so old and tired.

My father in law was on a train to a concentration camp when the Americans liberated the train so I don't take the nazi's lightly ever ever ever because if they had their way my daughter would not be on this earth.

Comparing the actions of Frist and putting them on par with the actions of Hitler is making light of what Hitler did, not the other way around.

As vile and offensive as you may think Frist is, heaven help us if he is 1/100th as vile as Hitler.

I've seen that many times, but it brings tears of laughter every time. You have to wait for the infamous HAHAHTCHAHCAHAH right up to the end.

While I have no idea what you meant about the uppity tiger, this is well said.
