100m - 14.3
1500m - 5.30

Those were in high school about fifteen years ago. Results are from memory so they're not 100% reliable, but they should be close enough.

Didn't train running at all, but I was in good shape 'cos I played ridiculous amounts of hockey (about 6 hrs + 1-2 games per week) and badminton (about 10 hours + 1-2 games per week) back then.

Most recent time is a marathon two years ago. Time 5.27:42 ins't impressive, but it was the second time I went jogging that year.
The marathon was in July and the only time I "practiced" for it was in March.

I was in decent shape though as I biked about 100 km per week that year.

I ran in college:

800 - 1:54.23
1500 - 3:54.36 (roughly 4:10 for the mile)
3000 - 8:39 (indoors)
3k steeplechase - 9:38
5k - 15:45
8k - 26:17 (cross country)
10k - 32:47 (cross country)

Now I couldn't approach any of these.

I ran in high school and college.

400: 48.8
800: 1:51.72
5K: Low 16s, don't remember exactly.

I still run almost everyday but don't wear a watch. Now it's just for relaxation.

How'd I know you'd reply to this topic before me...

I ran in college and then semi-pro for a few years, peak training mileage was about 80 mpw for a 3 month period:

400: 49.9
800: 1:51.82
mile: 4:04 (1500-3:46.27)
5k roads: 15:06

I think a marathon is about 25 miles too far for me.

yah, a little bit of a brag post for a lurker.

F you, rook. i was feeling good about myself until you jumped into this thread.

EDIT: OK, there are several people faster than me now. Nevermind.

Which of these times do you feel proudest of?

I ask because they're all pretty f'ing sick!

[/ QUOTE ]

I would think the mile/1500 times are the best (only because this guy at my high school ran 4:02 for a mile and 1:52 for 800m and I think he focused more on the mile).

[/ QUOTE ]

4:02??? there are only a handfull of high schoolers ever to run that fast. since you're in chicago, i'm guessing Don Sage.

I went to high school in Madison. Gabe Jennings was his name (graduated the year before I got there, so didn't technically go the school with him, but heard all about him). He went on to run at the 2000 olympics. Haven't heard much about him since.

[/ QUOTE ]

ahhhh. just saw him on TV last week. he went on some bike tour of South America by himself a few years ago, and is now trying to make a running comeback.

I'm pretty impressed by the times in this thread, both from the former runners and athletic non-runners.

im younger but know plenty of gabe who still has the wisconsin state record, went on to be an ncaa champ in the 1500m from stanford. Disappeared to africa for a couple years and just this year took 2nd in the 1500 in the u.s. outdoor champ i believe.

editted because after i reread i noticed i was the same age as you going to h.s. year after he graduated.

Did you go to highschool/run in madison? I ran track and cross-country all four years for East. Might know who you are (or recognize your name at least) if you ran CC/track at the same time as me.
