[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] MASH- When Radar reads the announcement that Henry's plane crashed. [/ QUOTE ] this really should have brought the thread to a screeching halt. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. [/ QUOTE ] But, then the thread would have sucked. It also wouldn't have provided the correct answer. |

[/ QUOTE ] I thought so at the time, as well. But then, we would've missed the WKRP post. Nice call, Bob. Reminds me of Loni Anderson's character getting her own call-in advice show, and nonchalantly advising a listener to leave her husband. When the woman called back to say that her husband beat the crap out of her when she tried to leave, Loni showed that she had more to offer, dramatically speaking, than ample cleavage. |

Re: Saddest Scene in a Sitcom

Jeez people, it wasn't that sad. I mean I get it, I love dogs and own dogs... but a cartoon dog waiting outside endlessly just isn't "easily" the saddest scene in the history of TV. Especially compared to shows where youve become attached to the characters over many years, not just the previous 20 min of the cartoon [/ QUOTE ] I think it's all a matter of whether you can relate to it or not. For a person who's had a pet dog die, I can understand why this would be much sadder than the other examples presented in this thread. |

[/ QUOTE ] I remember that episode too now that you bring it up. WKRP went from awesome sillyness in the first season or two to trying to be a bit too deep and meaningful at times. The joy of the show was watching these nut-jobs interact with each other. Letting them stretch their more dramatic acting chops as much as they did kind of dragged the show down imo. |

Re: Saddest Scene in a Sitcom
okay, now I'm totally WKRP flashbacking.
Loved that show. The theme-song that's pretty tough to get out of your head: http://youtube.com/watch?v=peNldUH6j...mp;search=wkrp |
