The judgment of a man by his nation, race, sex,clan, family,etc. does not and will never speak to the worth of a man. This type of perception by the above is slippery and sloppy thinking. If one judges via IQ testing it justifies one's own self and has nothing to do with that man.

Assuming that Martin Luther King was totally conscious of his being there is no amount of measure which can speak to this genius. Likewise Garabaldi, Ghandi, and others which have led mankind to new levels of worth. If a business only accepts high IQ individuals it only perpetuates the status quo and in some instances leads to destructive impulses.

Likewise to judge a woman as to her sex obfuscates the value and humanness of the same.

1. Defining intelligence is an impossible task. Nobody can agree on what it actually means. The concept of g and general intelligence is an intensely debated topic and flatly claiming that it measures anything substantial is very far from an accepted claim in the psychological community.

2. Nobody has mentioned Stereotype Threat yet and it is a HUGE finding. Here is a wikipedia excerpt:

A great post. Regarding the stereotype finding, my favorite was the one were they tested asian women in mathematical aptitude. One group (A) was presented with stories of women generally scoring lower on math tests, one group (B) was told that asians generally tested higher on math tests and ofcourse the control group (C). The research found over several cases that B scored highest, C middle and A lowest. Pretty groovy finding. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

It's possible he's just a doddering old man who really doesn't know what he's talking about anymore... I read some of his other quotes, it seems like he's just sort of losing his wits I guess. I doubt there's a conspiracy to put the black man down at work that picked this guy to spearhead its movement...

To those criticizing IQ - there are many measures of intelligence besides IQ score, some quantitative, others anecdotal, and they match pretty well on the racial divide. I've listed a heap of them before.

The fact that guy is getting vilified shows a pretty dangerous sickness in Western intellectual society IMO.

A man's considered opinion is an irrational prejudice? Lammy must know something I don't. Someone please link me to the proof that races have identical intelligence. You're a smart man, why do you make comments like this?. Saying blacks are superior athletes necessarily implies that whites are inferior athletes.

Saying that Whites/Asians have superior intelligence is identical to saying that Blacks have superior athletic skills. It's not a negative either.

As for the scientist's comments, he was making a very valid claim that maybe African policies will fail if we assume they have the same intellectual capital as the West. Regardless of the reasons, it is a FACT that the current generation and those before score terribly on IQ tests - which is strongly correlated with things like academic achievement and success in professions. Whatever the reasons, this huge IQ divide will significantly affect their ability to undertake Western style economics, innovation and governance. Do you disagree with this?? Does anyone disagree with this? If so, on what grounds?

It makes me sick that these important questions are swept under the rug by supposedly learned men. Operating under faulty assumptions such as those outlined by the scientist will affect the lives of hundreds of millions of people. The true non-racists will favor truth over political correctness, because knowing the truth will help change policies to what they should be . The closet racists and the brain dead losers who can't think for themselves will yell RACIST! as loudly as they can, and harm the people they're pretending to help.
