Re: 4bet bluff vs 2p2er flops top pair
didnt read everything
my first thought was "open shove" my 2nd thought was "you 4bet way too small, so open shoving isnt as good now" my 3rd thought was "if you've 4bet at least 1 or 2 times before, just shove anyway" its not like if you check you'll ever be able to rep anything weaker than you have or he'll ever bluff, and since we're ahead a ton, we might as well just do it now. |

Re: 4bet bluff vs 2p2er flops top pair
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] It generally doesn't matter if he has AK/AQ a lot. Say villain open pushes every flop with a range of 88+/AQ+ and you know he's going to do it, I don't see how you can play profitably with your 76cc. Can someone please explain how this is a profitable call? [/ QUOTE ] If his range is 88+ AQ+ Which is a terrible range because 1. this hand shows his range is wider than that 2.A lot of those hands especially stuff like 88-TT and AQ he'd rarely 4bet pf and call or fold almost always. Anyways lets just assume that's his range 76s vs 88+ AQ+ had You have 29% equity. The direct pot odds are 28% and if hes openshoving the flop with his whole range its a laughably easy call. [/ QUOTE ] You're missing the entire point. YOU HAVE NO [censored] CLUE WHAT MY RANGE IS. JUST BECAUSE I WAS BLUFFING IN THIS HAND IS IRRELEVANT. HE VIEWS ME AS A COMPLETE UNKNOWN. Your "equity" means basically nothing. You still have to play postflop completely in the dark. He doesn't know how often I'm 4betting air, or continuing a bluff on various flops. Thinking that the direct pot odds are important here is stupid. Do you call every 3bet with 22 OOP against a tough LAG who you know 3bets light because you're getting sufficient odds against his supposed range? |

Re: 4bet bluff vs 2p2er flops top pair
Should 4 bet a little more.
calling this 4 bet in position with suited connectors isn't a great play against an unknown. it depends, though - if you think this 4 bet is aces a lot (which it is against an unknown), it may be worth taking a flop with. bet $100 on the flop, don't check. |

aislephive,
Eagles was saying arbitrarily assigning you a range of 88+ AQ is really dumb and that even based on that dumb premise his conclusion was still wrong. |

[ QUOTE ]
aislephive, Eagles was saying arbitrarily assigning you a range of 88+ AQ is really dumb and that even based on that dumb premise his conclusion was still wrong. [/ QUOTE ] Ok, fair enough. Still .. equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 70.684% 70.49% 00.19% 193119728 533610.00 { JJ+, AKs, AKo } Hand 1: 29.316% 29.12% 00.19% 79781692 533610.00 { 87s } Against that range which is pretty reasonable for an unknown, calling with 67s to my 4bet would be correct in 'Eagles' opinion, but I disagree. Given that you don't have much of an idea of how I play it will be extremely difficult for you not to make a big mistake after the flop. If you had a better idea of my ranges and postflop tendencies, then I can perhaps see it being ok. But I just don't know you how can possibly expect to be able to felt when you hit a pair and have it be +EV against an unknown but presumably solid player who 4bets. |
