If the guy is willing to square this, I am sure that is all astarck cares about.

Mythra, fwiw, if your story is true and you indeed lost 3k of your own money as well as OP's 2k, I think you'll have to pay him his 2k out of pocket if your account had possession of his cash.

[/ QUOTE ]

If he was actually hacked he doesn't owe anything out of his own pocket. So, the OP sent money to a hacker... Um yeah, he's [censored] out of luck.

I don't care who's at fault here. Do your homework before you send a random person money, people. When I was doing transfers I was gladly giving out references so people could check up on me, I gave my address when requested, I gave my phone/cell #, and only one person took me up on the offer and talked to me on the phone.

I'm surprised that this is the worst situation that developed out of the whole thing.

[/ QUOTE ]
I also gave out my phone number to couple of people when I was doing neteller transfers. If you are reading this, please post here to confirm it (you talked about JohnnyBax and sheets)

I'm waiting for FTP to unlock my account so I can see how much of 2k is left.

I must disagree. I am assuming, though, that the money hit Myrthra's account before being hacked. If he took off for a ski trip, and then got hacked, in which case OP unknowingly sent money to a phisher, then this could get uglier than it already is and you may have a slightly valid point.

There's no way to cash out of my FTP account, so I'm hoping the guy didn't blow it all or did some type of obvious chip dumping that can be caught..

FTP can identify the IP that logged into Mythra's account.

How would a hacker have both Mythra's FTP info and 2+2?

When was the last time you manually logged into either one?

I haven't logged into 2+2 in maybe 8 months.

Do you have any idea how long someone would have to keylog to get both of those passwords?

His account is most likely locked from astarcks emails to FTP.

Yeah, that's my opinion if the OP had sent money directly to the hacker. Otherwise it's up in the air really.

Myrtha, You certainly have a lot of stories when money disappears.

I can vouch for Mythra, he was with me and my wife Zsa Zsa Gabor snowboarding in the Florida Everglades all weekend.
