Re: ***Official 2007 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread***
In his post game interview last night, Ben assured us that it was nothing serious. Just said he's a little bruised up, and will be good to go for practice this week and the game next week.

Re: ***Official 2007 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread***
I feel good about the season right now. We're a top-5 team and unless something drastic happens we've essentially clinched the AFC North. With everything that happened in the offseason, this is a great result. The only thing I'm afraid of are the Patriots. Here's my prediction for the game:
Ben gets knocked out of the game in the first quarter after being sacked for the 14th time. Batch steps up and throws for 700 yards and 9 touchdowns, taking the it into OT. The Patriots win the coin toss and Steeler nation lets out a collective "oh [censored]." The first play is a deep bomb to Moss that's picked off by Ike Taylor. Everyone on both teams is so shocked that Ike actually caught a ball that they stand dumbstruck as he runs it back for a game-winning touchdown. Steelers 72 Patriots 66 |

Browns are bringing the thunder this week. Book it. [/ QUOTE ] Very happy we escaped this week with a win. Pittsburgh is the manifestly superior team, but Cleveland's big plays (the interception, 99 yd kickoff return TD) kept them in the game longer than they needed to be. How awesome (and scary) were Ben's rushing plays (TD and for the 1st and goal)? Cleveland officially became the 8398th example of why prevent defense and conservative playcalling are a certain path to losing in the NFL. If the Browns remain aggressive after jumping out to a 15 point lead they may have held on for the victory. I feel very good about where this team is. We've beaten everyone in the division once and have a solid 2 game lead. Even in Pittsburgh's 2 losses they were hardly outclassed. Time to root for Indy to lose tonight...I think a #2 playoff seed isn't out of the question. I only wish I had a Capacola and cheese from Primanti Brothers and an ice cold Iron to celebrate. |

Re: ***Official 2007 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread***
Great game.
Kick coverage is brutal...again. Really hoped we had turned the corner on this a few years back, but it seems to be back. Ben played amazing again (with the exception of a few plays) and I really think he's close to being a top 3 QB in the league. Was nice to see Polamalu making plays again. He's such a huge force around the ball and I was afraid he was starting to get buried in the tampa 2. All in all I'm really excited about this team and thrilled that we have the only coach in the North who can manage a game better than an 8 year old on the rookie level of Madden. |

They were continuing to press with the blitz and were taking shots down field throughout the second half. What other type of aggression should they have shown? |

I think the Steelers can beat Indy in the playoffs at home or on the road, they match up really well with their roster. Obviously, the NE game will be the real measuring stick, there aren't many good matchups for them there. |

Hey Stillers. Thanks for the big win today, I was a tad worried about the Browns and the WC. Can't wait for dec 16th.
