Re: Do we really know that online poker is on the level? I.E., not rig
[ QUOTE ]
It would be impossible to mess with the RNG and not have multitabeling regulars notice when they're looking through their PT records. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. It would only take one person posting something like I think I'm losing with XX too much against XX... then everybody could check it in their PT db. |

Re: Do we really know that online poker is on the level? I.E., not rig
Many gambling is more rigged than online poker, like sports betting, horse racing, and even home poker games. I actually see that online poker is not that rigged after playing in home games because our showdown is like every hand, and so many more suckouts happen because of that.

Re: Do we really know that online poker is on the level? I.E., not rig
[ QUOTE ]
How is a certificate from some Company I have never heard of and I can’t find any information on supposed to give me, the player any kind of comfort level? [/ QUOTE ] Exactly. Look at Everest Poker for example. They went from tiny to huge pretty fast (they are ranked #5 on pokersitescout.com). As they say on their webbpage: "Trust: It's the secret to our growth." Sweet. Everest Poker are owned by Ultra Internet Media (UIM), Kahnawake, Quebec, Canada. They brag about making their "poker game software and test data available to external auditors and gaming authorities to provide an outside, independent check". Who are these external auditors? They mention Technical Systems Testing (TST). I'm don't know if TST qualifies as being "some Company", but they sure aren't PWC. Another reason why we should comfortable playing at their site is that Everest Poker is a member of Online Gaming Alliance (OGA). Guess who owns and run OGA? UIM... A funny detail is that membership in the OGA is restricted to sites powered by software from Grand Virtual. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Grand Virtual= Everest Poker..? Round and round it goes. Keep the tinfoil hat on, guys. |

Re: Do we really know that online poker is on the level? I.E., not rig
I don't know if online poker is rigged or not. I've seen a lot of fishy boards that seem to promote action. I've taken a lot of beats. However, I think that the number of fishy boards and bad beats have something to do with the sheer volume of hands we see plus the number of weak online poker players.

VEGAS CASINOS are heavily regulated by the Nevada Gaming Commission, a well-known governmental oversight body that is one of the most advanced gaming oversight agencies in the world. That's how I'm more comfortable playing in a Vegas casino than online. Your argument sucks, try again. |
