update for those still concerned.
Requested a baby check (<1000) from stars on 1/19. It arrived in the mail today 1/27. Looks like your standard rebate check to me. Was issued by a company called Chexx Inc. (www.chexxinc.com) from a 'U.S. Bank' account. I'm on my way to deposit it in a BoA ATM. I'll update if there is a problem. |

Who cares if the cheque did say Pokerstars? The bank won't care. The hold will be put on any cheque coming from another bank that the cashing bank can't verify funds until it passes central clearing house.
The only way around this is if your bank account has no holds, or only holds above xxx amount (say $1,000). Even if you have no holds, if the cheque bounces, it will still reverse in your account. |

[ QUOTE ]
This thread seems to have two halves to it: 1) cashing cheques from PS is bloody boring 2) There are some people working in the banking teller business who frown sometimes. And some who smile sometimes. And some who react to people depositing $20k. And some who don't react to people depositing $20k. [/ QUOTE ] I read this whole thread, and when I reached your thread I realized my mistake. Alas, it was too late. |

The checks are drawn from U.S. Bank not BOA FWIW.
