The bad thing is that most of the players who stop playing will be the losing players, not the winners in the game. At least, I assume the winners are a bit more logical and wont go on some hissyfit quitting spree.

This is certainly true, but remember that the average fish doesn't put in all that many hands per month. The money is largely trickled in from a wide variety of sources, and so even a relatively decent amount of people quitting because of this can still not be too noticable on a large site.

The evidence is pretty damming and I hope this guy gets crucified, but the only reason that he got caught is because he got sloppy. You can't exclude the possibility that more proffesinal hackers are out there who won't make such blatant mistakes.

Yes, I think online poker has more than exceeded the critical mass needed to attract the real "pros", and thats why something like this is great in terms of hopefully raising the bar for the security level of online sites. I have no idea how prevalent it is, but you have to be naive to think various forms of cheating aren't/haven't been going on in online poker. Just think about the ease of use of voice communication, the previous multi-accounting fiascos, trojans, etc. I remember a similar situation on Party being discussed a while back. Here this super account BS was apparently part of the software design, which now got into the wrong hands. If this is true, then at least THIS is going to be a pretty easy fix, and unlikely to happen again/anywhere else once cleared up.

I want to let everyone know that in the past few months I've taken over the role as Mark Seif's poker coach. I can state definitively that our hand viewing procedures are compliant with the stated rules.

Is this unusual in a capped multiway pot? Im not a poo flinger, but it seems more than reasonable to expect someone to have an overpair and c/f AK

[/ QUOTE ]
