Greg - you totally missed the point of this topic. Its not if Linda should be fired, I don't think Ive read anyone advocating that (although i did say if I was Doug thats how I would run the show, but I am not Doug and I think he should base his decisions on MGM policy not our opinions). The topic that this thread has turned to is mostly about employee rights to disclose information on their own time.

You must have missed the previous post from spacemanspliff with this link - link. You of all people here know that I have tons of experiance with employee/employer relations, a customer's habits would most likely fall under that domain - HR could use "trade secrets" disclosure as a reason for termination when in reality the employee discussed the customers. Of course if Linda has approval to do this then she is protected, but all it would take is one pissed off customer to bring down the house of cards on her ability to be so frank.

Why is it obvious she is a top notch dealer? Sounds more like she is your typical casino dwelling snake that is looking for any money that may be passed her way and is bitter when it doesn't happen.

FWIW I can tell you that if she ever deals to me I will not tip her because she has a terrible attitude. There is only one other dealer I don't tip and I think anyone that has been dealt to by him would agree that it would be more fair for him to tip us for his terrible service than for us to tip him.

I also agree that this trade secrets bit is way out in left field. So is all of the legal debate going on... sure you can make all of these arguments at some point, but you'd hardly need to go this far to let someone go.

She's bad-mouthing her employer's customers in a public forum, that's the issue. That's just not something you do as a professional, I don't care what industry you're in. Most employers would frown on their employees openly and publicly discussing their clients in a derogatory fashion - it's just bad for business.

Obviously, I understand her position, but this type of blog would be much wiser if she weren't still working for the same house.

I know of people who have been fired from their jobs for blogging about their employer - and these are people who were blogging anonymously and someone told on them. Most employers can fire you for pretty much any reason - you are "at will" in most cases, and many employee agreements have a clause that covers this.

You've said this in a few threads in the past I think, and I'm not really sure why. They make exactly what they're supposed to make which is what people DECIDE to tip them and based on how many hands per hour they get out. If dealers don't cut into my action (by dealing quickly and efficiently), I'm certainly not going to cut into theirs when someone decides to tip generously.

Just found this on Pocket 5's, from Townsend:

"I had a rack of reds which I used to tip each dealer $5 dollars. It sounds like this dealer was at the end of the match and it must have slipped my mind. I did my best to tip each dealer $5, but I am sure I forgot at times."

So he actually meant to give her $5, he just forgot. Oops.
