Mr. Guids, such a product does not exist. I believe you must have dreamed it. [/ QUOTE ] Oh...well, then just give me a six-pack and a couple bags of skittles. |

Re: what to drink to seem sophisticated
jack+coke or beam+coke is definitely an amateur drink but not at all girly. it's the kind of thing you have when you're 19 and your 21 year old friend just made a liquor run.
and whoever said gin and tonic is girly is a moron. vodka tonic is tending towards girly, but the ladies don't exactly go crazy for gin. |

Re: what to drink to seem sophisticated
Is it coincidence that people claiming there are no girly drinks are also the ones drinking girly drinks? I think not.

Re: what to drink to seem sophisticated
Whenever I am at a nice restuarante, I start off with either a Dry Martini, a Gin with a splash of Tonic, or a Manhattan with Knob Creek. You should never be drinking a Rum/Coke, Whiskey/Coke, etc. unless it is a cheaper place using house liqour. I feel like scotch is a much better after dinner drink. As for wine, if it a nice restuarante, the waiter should be able to help, but if not, just know you basic food and wine pairings. I personally like Cabernet with evreyone getting steak or really rich dishes and Merlot if I am getting a steak, but others have slightly less rich meat dishes. But more often than not I get a Pinot Noir, because it pairs well with anything that is not incredibly light or incredibly heavy. IMO probably the best wine to fit with almost any combination of meals. I almost never drink white, but if I do, a very dry Chardonnay.

i am fine with a 24 pack and some pizza.. but when going out with females i usually get all cought up in the moment and drop the ball and order some ghey fruity drink... what should i get from a nice restruant to seem like i know what i am doing? also with the name can i get the pronounciation so i don't seem like a fool. TIA - fat kid with no skills [/ QUOTE ] Here is some advice from a veteran - red wine or a drink like vodka/tonic or gin/soda. If you order the gin, drink WITHOUT straw straight from glass - real men don't use straws. |
