Ah hemm.... Attention from what I can gather it appears that Absolute Poker is currently operating *without a license*. Does anyone know what the legal implications of this are????

I have started a new thread on this as I think it is an important matter.

[/ QUOTE ]

I recall in another case where I looked up a poker site and they were permitted to run their gambling operation pending the approval process of their application. Maybe Joe Norton bought AP recently, or maybe key personnel changed, requiring a reapplication, such that they are in the application process, a Mohawk equivalent of the Catholic purgatory. Just a possibility.

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe, but it's rather unusual for something being allowed to operate without a license.
It's a bit like you asking your surgeon if he is qualified to operate on you.
"I'm in the process of applying."
Would not generally be considered an adaquate answer!

[/ QUOTE ]

I bet people do a lot of medicine before they get a medical license. At least I hope they do.

you're brilliant

1)no, that's not the grinder
2)this is not a chip dump
3)this player lost a huge amount to doubledrag in the end
4)you would have known all of that had you read any of the many threads

Does this look correct and complete based on what we know?

Tokwiro Enterprises Enrg owns Absolute Entertainment SA which owns Absolute Poker, APLady and Blast Off Ltd. which owns Ultimate Bet.

[/ QUOTE ]
Does not look correct, IMO. That opinion is based on posts in this forum andinformation on AP and UB websites, and results of Google searches. I have seen no corporate registrations.

Tokwiro Enterprises Enrg. owns AP and UB, probably directly.

Blast off may own AE, and used to own UB before transferring ownership of UB (or more likely transfering a portion of UB which kept the name "UB") to Tokwiro.

I have not seen anything pointing to Tokwiro owning AE.

I have no knowledge or opinion regarding APLady.

Does AP actually set aside the total amount of their customers balances in some secure bank account somewhere, like other sites do?

I was just thinking they must be hemorrhaging cash right now paying back what they owe from what they stole, as well as added expenses stemming from this catastrophe.

I wonder if theres any assurance that their customers balances are safe and secure?

I am just throwing out ideas, I am not convinced that he did or did not cheat.

[/ QUOTE ]

Nat, what do you think about Seif denying that he saw clear evidence of cheating in the POTRIPPER tournament?

He lies through his teeth even in the face of UNDENIABLE evidence.

He is a joke.

He would have no moral qualms about cheating if he was convinced he would not get caught.

the pot is 600 going into the river and potripper overbets a ton then folds..THE GRINDER - Checks
DOUBLEDRAG - Bets $5550
THE GRINDER - All-In(Raise) $5640 to $5640
DOUBLEDRAG - Folds
THE GRINDER - returned ($90) : not called

Showdown:
THE GRINDER - Does not show
THE GRINDER Collects $11758 from main pot

SUMMARY:

Doubledrag must have thought he could move him off the hand, and once GRINDER came over the top, DOUBLEDRAG had to fold. Remember, he could see GRINDER's cards. No point to call $1 if you know 100% you are losing.

But has anyone considered that maybe someone else was using Mark's account without his permission?

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, but in the year and half since the allegations surfaced he has never denied that it was him playing that session.
