Be gentle with me it's my first time in this thread.

Notes about me;
- I was a low limit O8b winner
- Kept blowing all my winnings playing HE too high
- Could hold my own at the 1/2 stakes and .50/1 stakes about the same time last year.
- Now I try to play the .25c/.50c full ring game and i'm getting crushed.
- I have been playing SNG's for about 6 months ago in an effort to learn discipline and to build a roll comfortable enough to play cash games with.

I can afford to play .25/.50 (20 buy-ins)now but what do you guys think is the best way to really curb the learning curve.(that sentence sounds weird in my head).

I have PT but have never really used it extensively b4 and don't even really know how to use it effectively. Any threads on beginners for PT?

Any suggestions on how to start guys?

Thanks a lot

There's probably more help on this available at www.pokertracker.com

My suggestion is to find a game that truly gives you value. Some of the things to take into account:
a) how much you enjoy the game
b) your current skill at the game
c) your future skill at the game
d) the skill of your opponents at the game
e) the future skill of your opponents at the game
f) games that your friends play
g) games that you can easily grow from (b) to (c) above

I suspect that 6-max hold'em is likely to do quite well on each of those attributes.

20 buy-ins is a common standard for a "winning" player. If you have 20 buy-ins for $50NL 6-max, I'd suggest that you move up and down as soon as you cross the 20 buy-in threshold. Thus, if you're comfortable 4-tabling, and you have $561, I'd suggest two $50NL tables and two $25NL tables.

Of course, the number of tables you'll want to play is dependent on what you're used to. I went from 12-tabling SNGs, so 4-tabling cash was easy.

In addition, the player skill level at 25nl and 50nl is likely to be very, very similar.

I suspect that anyone who reads these forums and is trying to win can beat 25nl and below, so that might be a good place to start.

Reading these forums is as good a technique as any to get good.

Depends on the rest of the drooling. If the only thing I knew was that one hand it would be tough. He did have top pair on a drawy board on that hand and his overbet wasn't that huge. Not that that's not a drooler's hand, but it's not clinically insane. He also knows he sucked out on you.

If there have been other crazy hands, maybe. I've certainly called bets like that before with less than AK.

In my experience they basically always have TT+ AQ+, but given he just sucked out on you I think AA becomes weighted more heavily because he hopes you're tilting.

You don't occasionally see the drunk/crazy guy doing this once an orbit or more?

Ok, forgetting the first hand and the history. Sometimes that giant push is K4s. Am I the only one who ever calls these guys? That's fine. I like it that way.

Yeah I was gonna say, sometimes it's AA. Sometimes it's 44. Sometimes it's T6s. I honestly don't think calling is bad at all.
