I'm going to buck the curve and say that I don't really mind this pick for the Colts. I like Gonzalez a lot, and I think his skillset fits them very well.

They should have taken Pos or Branch, sure, but I don't mind Gonzalez.

[/ QUOTE ]

This makes sense, but I was kind of hoping we could play some defense at some point.

[/ QUOTE ]

The COlts have their First rounders on D, Freeny and Sanders. The core of the D (save for CB) is still there from the team that won the Super Bowl (twice carrying Peyton). There was no need to pick D there. The D spots will be filled in 3 and 4.

I think they were hoping that Branch would fall to them.

No idea why Detroit made that trade with Buffalo. But now if they don't get Daymeion Hughes in the 3rd with 2 picks, I am going to be quite upset....

4>3 that's about it really. The overall rating of this pick depends greatly on two things: The CB play of Jackson and Jennings and the Colts 6 3rd and 4th picks.

WTF. Detroit next pick is at 66?!

Did they get a 1st next year or something? Jesus christ.

Edit: nm, 44ish

[/ QUOTE ]

I think they are going to go QB and figured that their guy (or one of them) will still be there ~ten picks later so why not grab another 3rd. Seems logical.
