I am surprised how many of us have actually done CPR and rescued a boater though.

That must have been tough doing CPR on your dad. I did it on a friend after a climbing accident but sadly he didn't make it. Took me a long long time to shake that.

It was required training for the river guide job I had when I was 18. Fortunately, I've never had to use it in the field.

EDIT: ...so I've got the boat rescue thing down. The best was self-recovering my own capsized raft in continuous Class IV water without getting anywhere near dry land.
