Re: 25k at the 60s in 1 month challenge (Oct props)
congrats SG, fwiw you won the bet with me. i imagine all that bet you are would feel the same. if one or two are going to be petty, then i guess just win another few hundred. whatever... but i think all that bet will just pay you probably don't have to continue if you dont want to.
also, you play with incredible discipline, never spite call, and never get into stupid plays with other regulars. i've learned quite a bit playing with you so if you stick around at the 60's you can expect an improved game from me.... |

Re: 25k at the 60s in 1 month challenge (Oct props)
Please just make the extra $800 so we can all go home. The claim that Sharkscope's recording might not be 100% precise are right. SG may not have topped 25k if the tournaments are arranged by start time rather than finish time, or whatever way it didn't actually happen.

[ QUOTE ] I pretty clearly recall SG stating what he is saying now multiple times before and definitley during the very beginning of the bet. I'm not really sure who if any of the complainers are actually in the bet, but if you are it's pretty low to bring this up when you have a great chance of losing than in the beginning when the outcome was unclear. BTW well done SG, sick accomplishment. [/ QUOTE ] rofl at it being low, is this the twilight zone? Did all semblance of rational thought leave the second gravy started the bet? [/ QUOTE ] So what is it called when no one says a word when he mentions this exact situation early on, but now that he mentions it when it actually has a slight chance of having an effect on the outcome everyone decides to say something? |

fwiw I had no action in this bet and really hope gravy wins. I'm just a nit for logic and this thread has me baffled.

personally, i think the conversation taking place right now is EXTREMELY nitty and petty, but whatever, i'll let you guys sort it all out. for my (invisible) money, he has won the bet, and was there ever any doubt that he would? oh wait, yeah, there was ALOT of doubt in ALOT of people's minds. not mine. congrats gravy, this is a phenomenal accomplishment both in terms of your poker career AND what it says about you as a person. enjoy some well deserved r&r in virginia. fantastic. [/ QUOTE ] QFT A condition of the bet was also to send all HH to the bettors, right? |

Re: 25k at the 60s in 1 month challenge (Oct props)
some of you are saying he has to have a net gain of 25k on the month. this is probably because on 2p2 its standard and how most monthly goals/bets are done. however SG claims he had to just make 25k within the month. i know nothing of the details but assuming his claim is correct the bet is over.
i still think thats a weird way to make a bet, and it should always be a net gain. otherwise you could lose 25k and "make" it all back "within the month" and win this bet given the definition that was used. this is kind of a funny though. "so this guy made 25k playing the 60s on stars in a month" "OMG!! no way. wait, but how much did he lose?" "1k" congrats gravy, and there was no way i was going to bet against you because i was pretty sure you would do it. |

Re: 25k at the 60s in 1 month challenge (Oct props)
Just being an outside observer that has read just about every post since the beginning of the bet, I'd say he has to be up 25k or more on the last day of the bet. If he was up 29k today, then lost 10k tomorrow at the 60's, I'd say he still needs to make 6k to win the bet. The fact that he was "once at 25k during the month" should have no bearing. Total profit at the end of the time frame of the bet is what should matter.
At any rate, it sounds like it's only a few hundred more dollars, so that shouldn't be a big deal to make with so many days left. If I was the one doing the bet, once I hit 25k I'd stop and not play a single SNG at that level for the rest of the time to ensure I wouldn't lose the bet. |

[/ QUOTE ] It shouldn't be that way unless it was already specified early in the thread that it would in fact be that way. Since early on it was established that the bet would be somewhat different than most others, and peaking at 25k would end the bet, I don't think arguing over it makes any sense. |
