Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Thread: Reclaiming the NL East
[ QUOTE ]
There are approximately 100 Kyle Davies in the Braves system. Dotel fixes a need and you'll get a draft pick out of him. It's a good deal. Stop complaining. [/ QUOTE ] Can you prove he will be what we need? No you cant. Dont presume and dont tell me what to do. Too many people here think they know it all and they dont. |

100 is BS. Bring the facts and keep your attitude to yourself and quit reading into things that arent there.

Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Thread: Reclaiming the NL East
Oh really? There aren't literally 100 Kyle Davies in the Atlanta Braves system? Gee, what a surprise!
The point is that Davies is extremely replaceable and Dotel is a good fill-in AND YOU GET A DRAFT PICK out of him. You should still stop complaining. |

Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Thread: Reclaiming the NL East
Let's see the numbers. Quit talking out of your ass.
You never mentioned the word fill in until now. Everyone has a right to complain. You should try looking beyond this season. A draft pick? Woop-to-f-ing-do. Can you guarantee he will be awesome? No. I'm glad Davies is gone, but this riding Dotel's nuts is stupid. |

lol @ you nitpicking the fill-in. yeah i think that dotel is going to be a reliever in atlanta for six more years. real career guy you got there.
here's your problems a) you don't understand the value of draft picks b) davies is replaceable and most of all c) "You should try looking beyond this season. A draft pick? Woop-to-f-ing-do." lolololol |

How many "prospects" has he traded that never made it or stayed in the majors? You, like most people think that's the be all when it's not. Instead of having a discussion you have a need to feel superior and try to huniliate someone. Growup and get a clue. Also could you please start more posts with LOL? That's awesome. |

Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Thread: Reclaiming the NL East
So basically he can use this draft pick to go get another Tex in a couple years since that's what he does with prospects amirite?

Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Thread: Reclaiming the NL East
[ QUOTE ]
2008: Druw is gone. Who plays center? Do/can the Braves sign a FA or trade for a 30-40 HR hitter to fill the power void? Who? Is there someone they have now to fill the spot? Will Smoltz retire? It's obvious his shoulder is nearly shot and he's old in baseball years. He's on record as saying the next surgery will retire him. SP and RP holes must be addressed, especially if Smoltz retires to Cooperstown. Assuming Chipper is a Brave for life. Good or bad? Bobby Cox's last year maybe? Who takes over? Pendelton? Schuerholtz said the payroll will increase by 10 million, maybe as much as 20 mill. Just some fodder for discussion. All this makes me think this is a now or nothing season. [/ QUOTE ] Teixeira more than fills the power void left by Andruw for next year, and the years to come if we can resign him. I'm hoping for a strong defensive replacement who could leadoff. That would allow KJ to move to more of a run producing role at maybe 2 or 6 in the lineup. As far as fixing the rotation, I believe the best solution is to center a package around Brandon Jones, Renteria/Escobar/Lillibridge for a solid starter with at least 2 Arb. years left. Either Jones or Diaz needs to be moved, and I think Jones will have more trade value. The glut of shortstops also needs to be broken up to fill a hole. The bullpen is more than fine.. Soriano, Moylan, Villy, Devine, Ascanio, Ring, Gonzo makes a very solid pen. Could even resign Dotel to replace one of those I listed. |
