nicky, no its not

hourly rate is far more important, running hot at higher limits is more important, etc. etc. winrate means squat, why do you think goofy's is like 20 ?

[/ QUOTE ]

yea, i'm pretty much a nit who doesn't take shots even when the size of my roll calls for it.

Ok, isn't WR directly tied to hourly? I mean, seriously, what am I missing here?

[/ QUOTE ]

Not really. My hourly is much more when I multitable. I have a fairly decent sample size of it. My winrate decreases a little when I play more tables but my hourly significantly increases.

You look like a winning player to me.

If you have lost that much with AJo, its almost a certianty that you overvalue one pair hands. Possibly only in certian situations, for instance rred pots.

Your W$SD is a bit high. See more rivers, value bet more thinly, dont be afraid to lose a little more frequently.

ace, you seem too loose from the SB, and maybe the blinds in general.

[/ QUOTE ]

Don't be so sure about that; different people have different strategies out of the small blind, especially, and if they're incorporated well and tie in nicely with your metagame strategy, it can be quite effective.

Take me, for example: my stats out of the small blind look exactly like those of a complete donk imbecile, with my VPIP of 41.9% and my PFR of 10.7%. Despite that, in the 23k hands I've played at $100NL I'm in the green for that position (to the tune of a whopping $0.05 total, but green blinds are green blinds, baby).

In short, we're getting to the point where style, instinct, and opponent reading are more important than blind stats. We can't just look at a number and say "hmmm...your VPIP is 27%, and it should be 22% for you to do better" because style, table conditions, opposition, and metagame matter too much to ignore.

To the original poster I say: develop your style, build your intuition, strengthen your reads, understand your table image, work on your table and seat selection, close unprofitable tables, sit at more profitable ones, target the bad opponents, avoid the good ones. Don't waste your time trying to decide of your VPIP from UTG+1 is 3% too small; spend your time more productively by picking better opportunities and improving your ability to exploit those opportunities. Stats are a starting point, but we're not beginners anymore -- trust that you have no huge, glaring, obvious leaks and improve your ability to play the game that you already play, rather than trying to relearn the entire game at this point.
