I empathize for Oden, but I'm way more astounded that Portland even has fans. I truly did not know...

[/ QUOTE ]

Um, i'm from the east coast and even I know that Portland is a great basketball city.

Blazer fans are great, maybe the best fans in the league, imo.

This is brutal, hope he makes a full recovery.

With the 2008 #1 pick, the Portland Trailblazers select Derrick Rose of Memphis University. Cheer up Portland, it could happen.

Still sucks, cuz we'll never see how good Oden could've been.

You might be jumping the gun a bit here, no?

Maybe this'll motivate him to be better than he would've been, but I'm saying his ceiling has dropped. Even the guy's who have been successful coming back, haven't they all lost half a step or a little hop? Amare's the poster boy for success, and imo he's not as explosive as he was before.

oh yeah, same guy, diff acct.

I'll link back to your post after Amare pozzes the entire WC this season and then dunks on Tim Duncan in the playoffs while bitchslapping him with his free hand.

Would have been much worse for him if he had stayed in school another year. I guess this will now be the Exhibit A for coming out as early as you can.

How was this injury determined now but not when he was drafted?

knee problems at this age is a bad sign. The amount of punishment those knees take at that position means a pretty big risk of injury.

I hope Portland gets lucky in the loto again. Would be brutal if they lose Oden for the year, have another terrible season, and then get celtic'd out of a good pick.

we'll also likely have a better draft pick again this year to build on.

Better than #1?
