Re: Why is Doyle Brunson considered to be so good?
[ QUOTE ]
ban OP to start, because i just dont believe anyone is honestly that dumb, but it does drive me absolutely crazy when people that play 5-10nl honestly believe their opinions mean anything to a guy that plays 300-600nl or 4k-8k mixed games. no matter what we may think of the high stakes pros decisions on tv we do not know any of the backround or psychology that is going into why they made a specific play. if we understood that level wouldnt we be playing that level. irritating [/ QUOTE ] w/e, this is basically true, but I don't like to accept blanket statements like this. There are some very bad players at the highest buyins and there are some very good players at mid stakes who are on their way up and are just building their roll right now. |

Re: Why is Doyle Brunson considered to be so good?
Brunson has admitted in atleast one interview in the past that he's a loser in the Big Game, and that he just plays now so he can be remembered as playing the biggest stakes for the longest time.

[ QUOTE ] Who the [censored] cares about how many people were in the main events that he won? Hes been killing the big game for decades, and every top pro puts him on the short list for best player in the world (right now). [/ QUOTE ] ... doyle owning jamie gold multiple times on HSP [/ QUOTE ] Did you actually watch this clip? What you describe is not what happens at all. Doyle turns the nuts and JG folds his OESD because Doyle overplayed it. Doyle bet/folds with air (correctly). And then Doyle gets owned by JG - owned by the same banter with which JG owned everyone at the WSOP FT. |
