Re: Vick Pleads Guilty

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Also, what I heard on the radio was that the plea will be for "moving dogs across state lines for gambling purposes" and not related to any animal cruelty charges. If that is so, the lifetime ban seems even worse. [/ QUOTE ] On that, I agree with you completely. The ban should be for the disgusting method by which he tortured and killed the dogs, not for gambling on the fights. [/ QUOTE ] Aren't the federal charges all realted to gambling and it will just be the state that charges whatever animal cruelty charges there will be? [/ QUOTE ] Hmm, guess so...didn't realize that at first. In that case, I would not ban him for life yet since I don't believe someone should be banned for gambling. |

Re: Vick Pleads Guilty
though I normally like what 'tone has to say, the atlanta homerism here is pretty blatant.
p.s. Vick is a piece of [censored] [censored] [censored] [censored] eating [censored] faced [censored], and if he isn't killed in prison I wouldn't be sad with a lifetime ban and eventual drug addiction, homelessness, and despair. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Because right after looking up dog fighting pictures I looked at crime scene photos for people getting stabbed to death, drive by shot, and killed by repeat offender drunk drivers. However, none of them received a lifetime ban. [/ QUOTE ] lifetime ban only happens if the gambling is included in the plea deal. [/ QUOTE ] That's just as stupid. He wasn't gambling on NFL, he was gambling on horrible horrible dog fights. If it's just gambling that is the problem, why are Joey Porter and Levi Jones not banned for being in a casino when their fight broke out? [/ QUOTE ] is it illegal to gamble in a casino? [/ QUOTE ] Similarly, it's illegal to solicit a prostitute in Miami (though not parts of Nevada). Ban Eugene Robinson for life. |

SUB,
"what team would actually take a risk on him?" Many teams that think he would help them win. |

He'll bring nothing but negative publicity to the team, harm their reputation and ultimately be nothing like he used to be on the field. [/ QUOTE ] a) guys have done worse than him and come back b) he was never really great anyways, but he'll still be able to do the flashy stuff that gets ooohs and ahhs I think |

Re: Vick Pleads Guilty
If he misses 2 seasons in prison I think the chances of him playing in the NFL again have to be close to zero. Given how much his skills will deteriorate, I just can't see how it would be worth it for a franchise to tae on all of the extra baggage and hassle that signing him would involve, it seems like more trouble than its worth given how outspoken his protestors are. Whatever team signs him would get a ton of bad press, lines of PETA people outside the stadium, etc.

Maybe seeing Vick play one year in the CFL or the Arena League would be fun, [/ QUOTE ] No way Vick plays in the CFL. They generally give convicted felons a hard time at border crossings... |
