Got ahold of the friend that said he worked at 8 but his manager said he wasn't coming until 2. He overslept, he's going to pick up the other guy and take him to get the van. So hopefully I'll be on my way to Vegas in 8 or less hours.

So here's the story at this point. Friend that was supposed to pick up the van at 730 Vegas time never did. Its 9:15 there now. He won't answer his phone. Friend that worked at 8 isn't answering his phone, called his work to talk to him, guess what, he isn't scheduled to work until 2 and isn't at the store. Talked to his managers as people were trying to find him for me.

I was always hoping this movie would have a sequel...

Yeah, I should just go back. I'm not going to be able to live with either of these guys and act like its all good. The one that I drove out here with originally isn't talking to me for some reason. I called his phone and he just handed it to my friend that is driving him to get the van to answer. My dad is offering to either fly to Vegas to get a van or to pick one up in Davenport Iowa and drive out here. He has one on reserve just in case my friend decides something like he needs to get the van and go back and sleep some more.

rjoe,

Are you from Davenport? I was just back there for a week. Funeral, wedding, golf, John Deere tournament.

EDIT: and the U-Turn reference went over your head, no biggie.

Rjoe,

I'd just like to chime in with the chorus, and encourage you to take a long, hard look at your 'friends.'

Sorry about missing the reference, never seen it, just went with the title hehe. Yeah, I'm from DPort, actually walcott originally. World's Largest Truckstop and all that. My dad is on the verge or driving from there to come get me lolz.

While I was typing this got a call from the friend picking up the van. He didn't bring his wallet so they have to go back and get his credit card so they can use it for the deposit. Not sure what else can go wrong here, but if you guys wanna make a list I'll check them off as they happen.

rjoe,

Like 50 of my cousins, aunts, and uncles went to Assumption. The ones that are still around mostly live up near 53rd or in Bettendorf now.

I would like for you to get stuck there another night so you can try harder to get laid.

Are you sure your friends aren't monkeys?

I'd think even monkeys would do things better than your friends. I would immediately think of new housing situations.

At this point I'm looking into just getting the cargo van for a 2 day one way back to Iowa. I don't have money to get into a different place right away what with people wanting deposits but I'm checking Craigslist at the moment to try and find something.

rjoe,

I've spent a ton of time in Eastern Iowa, so I know why you left. Don't go back, although I would find it oddly hilarious if you do. Plus you seem like too nice of a guy to have those assclowns as friends.
