I'll put in a plug for my hometown room Canterbury Park.
Great facilities, great staff and loosest LHE games you could ever find make for a nice place to play.

While CP is certainly not the "nicest" in terms of amenities (just a plain, giant room with a zillion TV's and kinda [censored] chairs), I would argue that you'd be hard pressed to find a better run room, with skilled dealers, good service (although drinks are not free), and REALLY bad limit HE players.

The only room I've ever played at that was nicer may not exist anymore - it was the Lodge in Blackhawk, CO. They had this huge wall of windows and it was, well, a mountain lodge. Beautiful to watch a snowstorm while playing cards.

[/ QUOTE ]

It is still there and still looks like that. Everyone tells me that they like the room I work in better, but I prefer the Lodge.

[/ QUOTE ]

RR - this sounds very nice, should I road trip it? How many hours from vegas? Whats the limits these rooms spread?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well the most you can bet in this state is $5, so $5 limit. I think about 10-12 hours from Vegas.

Go in the winter. Stop for a day of skiing in Aspen, then go to Breckenridge (eat at the Hearthstone restaurant downtown), then go to Blackhawk for a day. Turn back around and do the same on the way back.

I realize that its in the middle of nowhere, but I will put the new 46 table room at WinStar in Oklahoma up there with any Vegas room.

Its brand new and very nicely decorated. Its not as plush as Venetian but everything is brand new, its huge and theres plenty of action.

Since the OP said "nicest poker room in the US"..not just Vegas..I vote for WinStar.

[/ QUOTE ]

You are joking I hope? Or more importantly have you ever played anywhere besides Winstar...it is much nicer than it used to be...but cmon....really? Best in the US? lolz

[/ QUOTE ]

"Best" would be quite a stretch but it is a damn fine room. I wouldn't rank it with the Wynn or Venetian by any means but it is very comparable to Caesars. Just wish they would let the Poker staff run the room instead of Marketing. They really could host a WPT event there if they got their internal issues worked out.

edit: FWIW- I played in all the large Vegas rooms within the past few months and play Winstar on a regular basis.

Last time I did that I broke my elbow in 6 places and had to pay someone $500 to drive me home + their return flight costs. I think I am done skiing

NO GAMBOOO, NO FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!1

You should still stop in Breckenridge for the night and have dinner at The Hearthstone downtown. Hell, have two dinners there (you gotta get lamb and prime rib, and i don't even like prime rib).

As far as "nice" goes, there's only one place I know of where it says "Friendliest" right there on the chips, so it has to be that one!

I like the Bicycle Casino in LA.. great food (free while you pay.. steaks, chinese, deserts anything you want!!) and been very profitable for me.

Seems like all southern california casinos are nice, Oceans Eleven, Bay 101, Bike, Commerce, Hustler etc..

You should consider the summer also. It is beautiful and quite cool right now. I can probably come up with a comp or two you you ever venture up this way.
