as someone of mixed ancestry I don't find the term halfy/halfie offensive. if someone asks me what ethnicity I am I say 'half asian' or 'half chinese' (it's pretty clear that the other half is caucasian)

In particular, I don't like the term eurasian because 'European' is not a particularly descriptive term with respect to ethnicity and I certainly don't identify with being European, and 'hapa' just sounds [censored] retarded to me since it is apparently a word from Hawaiian Pidgin, it is biased towards the 'white' side of one's ethnicity, and I have no hawaiian roots whatsoever.

Biracial is fine but it sounds too formal to use in everyday conversation.
