Maybe I missed something from playing live but have players been having problems with people seeing their cards while flipping them over to look. Never heard that before at a table.

i hoped new and improved would include some more sides(e.g. pentagons or better), but i'm satisfied with nath's.

Market research suggests that the public isn't quite ready for new shapes in their playing cards. Eventually, though, we hope to incorporate new shapes and designs, possibly even different shapes for different cards in individual decks. Our "concept cards" division has a deck they're working on we call the "Spiral staircase". We're hoping by 2012 to be able to design a deck that replicates a perfect double helix.

I played in the Casino Employees event yesterday. I liked the card value/suit in the corner but I have to agree with virtually everyone else that the community cards are difficult to differentiate the suits and the 6 & 9 issue is extremely confusing.
One player, at showdown, showed his pocket 9s and joked that he had either two pair 9s & 6s, or a full house, or a set--- he wasn't sure.

The board was 6 9 2 J 4

I concede that the 6 and the 9 are a little confusing, and it's probably a pain in the ass the read the board, but that's pretty much it. The face cards and the other numbered cards are fine -- and i kinda like the small angled icon in the upper corners.

[/ QUOTE ]

teddyFBI,

Are you at the Rio? Did you play with the cards?

Every player at my table hated the cards and I haven't heard positive comments from anybody who actually played there.

A lot of players had difficutly reading the corner of their cards because of the small print.

[/ QUOTE ]

no i'm not at the rio - i admit my whole opinion is based on the pics in this thread -- i'm sure those who r playing w/ them have a better idea about how much they suck.

Peek not Peak

I have been playing for a long time ya know. Leave the freaking cards alone. I can easily read standard cards without raising the corners nearly this much. I also know how to protect my hand.

My skills are becoming obsolete?

Obv, eliminate cards altogether and wire up sunglasses with a display on the inner surface that shows your hole cards, the board, pot and stack sizes, pots odds and of course, PT stats on your opponents.

Add mouse.

Anything else we can do for the socially retarded?

I got a blind friend, gonna enter him in the main event and demand cards in Braile.

We'll sue! We'll sue!

Thats something the Congress could get behind.

I do like the little line under the six. I wish network tv would put a little line under the Democrat's chins when they are talking on tv so I can distinquished them from the Republicans.

You know, I've always wondered why they didn't have an event for the blind (with braile cards). I don't think it should be that hard to do, and the dealer could announce what the flop, turn and river was.

I mean they already have a ladies only event and a seniors event, why not a braile event, or even just an event for the handicapped (IE: People who are paralized and can't use their arms/hands to see their hole cards)?

From the pictures I've seen, I think these cards contain some nice design ideas (the corner pips)...

[/ QUOTE ]

The corner pips were too small. Otherwise, nobody I played with complained about that part of the card. It was everything else on the card that was wrong.
