Re: Things people say or do in live tournaments to let you know they suck
[ QUOTE ]
10. They are a woman. [/ QUOTE ] Pretty much each and every woman I've played against in tournaments of any significance (say, $500 buy-in and up) have clearly been among the 25% - 20% best players in the tourney. Tournament poker is hightly dominated by male players, and many women are intimidated by this factor; because of this few women will enter bigger tournaments without a solid understanding of the game. |

[/ QUOTE ] This reminded me of a tournament I played last fall where I was seated at the same table as my girlfriend. They kept moving short stacks into the seat to her right that I quickly named "the death seat." They'd keep shoving on her blinds. She'd bide her time and then snap them off. Young, aggressive players thought they could run over her (an older woman). This effect sent them packing and her coasting to the final table. |

[/ QUOTE ] This is indeed awesome I remember open - shoving 7BB's in the SB with 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] late one tourney, BB wakes up with AK, I draw out, and he went ballistic over my terrible play. Then he stormed out of the room. Half the table nodded in agreement over my awfullness. Good times. |

[ QUOTE ]
this procedure tends to be a telltale sign: they get their cards. they cap their cards with their fancy card protector that's usually lame. they intensely study the table. it's their turn to act. they intensely look around again. they remove the stupid card protector. they look at the hole cards studiously. they put the lameass card protector back on. they look around again. they take the retarded card protector back off. they muck. REPEAT FOR 95% OF THE HANDS DEALT. [/ QUOTE ] 100% agree |

Re: Things people say or do in live tournaments to let you know they
after i flopped quads and went all-in on the river (100/200 blinds and effective stacks of ~5500, pot at the flop was 1500) and busted this guy when he was holding second pair with 2 as kicker:
"why havent you pushed after the flop with quads? its a good hand!" |
