Is education in general that expensive in america? Is it normal to pay 200k or 300k for education?

any private university is around $40k-$55k a year for tuition/room/board/books etc. 4 years of college.

But, tons of people get at least some financial aid. It's ridiculous, but I think it's like over 50% at my school.

lol at "easy to obtain"

1) he had to do an insane amount of work to get into Duke in the first place... and be really, really smart
2) he had to do an insane amount of work while there... and be really, really smart. a high graduation rate is a testament to the kind of students at Duke, not that it is "easy."
3) he did it and got a degree, which will land him great jobs and opportunities worth big bucks. this degree will most likely be a cornerstone in his life, future jobs or further education are directly influenced by it.

enough with that though. congrats jason.

Remove Jason's dick from your mouth before spewing this garbage. Coming from someone who graduated from a better school with a higher GPA, it certainly is realllllly easy to obtain a degree by just doing the bare minimum. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you're still in high school, aren't that smart, and never will be.

Regardless congrats, good to see some poker players who don't drop out of college, and who are pursuing something greater.
