Re: Films you like with very low Rotten Tomato ratings
Wet Hot American Summer 30%
Two Girls and a Guy 43% Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters 49% (The makers of this film know who their audience is, and it probably isn't you) Mallrats 49% Mars Attacks 47% I'm surprised I couldn't do any better than this. I just punched in movies that I own or like that I thought might get crappy ratings. One of the candidates I punched in got a 92% (Welcome to the Dollhouse) |

I'm shocked that lord of war god below 70%
Everyone I know that saw it thought it was excellent. I think along with Thank you for smoking it should have been an oscar contender. Oh, and allow me to add: Nacho Libre: 37% |

The Lover 33% Suicide Kings 37% Lord of War 61% American Pie 60% [/ QUOTE ] Liked 1 and 4, haven't seen 2 and 3. I went and looked up Jacob's Ladder, thinking it would be treated harshly, but its reception seems to have improved over the years. Harsh films can be like that. People just get angry when they first come out. |

[ QUOTE ] Last Action Hero (34%) - movie sucked but is packed with unreal Arnold quotes [/ QUOTE ] Besides T2, Arnold's finest work IMO. Benedict was an awesome bad guy as well. When Arnold and the kid first confront Benedict at the mansion might be the best scene. Arnold's quote along the lines of, "How are you going to snap your fingers after I rip off both your thumbs," is epic. [/ QUOTE ] Jack Slater: Why am I wasting time with a dime-store putz like you when I could be doing something much more dangerous, like re-arranging my sock drawers? |

Re: Films you like with very low Rotten Tomato ratings
I can't believe that Dirty Work and Night at the Roxbury are so low. Those are two of my favorite movies ever and even if they're on TNT or something with commercials and the swearing edited out, I'll usually stop and watch for a little bit. I guess I can at least understand someone not liking NATR, but if you don't like Dirty Work, you have no sense of humor whatsoever.
As far as something dramatic that I really liked, they have The Butterfly Effect at 33% and I always thought that was terrific. To be fair though, the director's cut did make a little more sense than the theatrical cut. Armageddon and Lord of War were pretty bad though. I actually think both of those should be much lower. |

Re: Films you like with very low Rotten Tomato ratings
Oh, and in order to win the thread, I started looking through the 100 worst movies according to IMDB until I found one I liked. Finally, I did at #55:
Gigli (6%) I remember I rented it just to see what the "worst movie of the year" was and I ended up enjoying it quite a bit. There were a lot of really funny scenes, but I guess the critics probably didn't like because they were making fun of a retarded kid. Some of the J-Lo scenes were really hot too and even Ben Affleck's character was over-the-top enough to be so bad it was funny. I never understood the hate for this movie at all. |
