In last year's 121-122 loss vs GSW, Dirk scored 51 points. 3 weeks later, he scored 29 in a 102-114 loss.

I don't recall ever seeing Baron or J-Rich posting up.

You're right that there wasn't much guard postage, but it was mostly b/c Avery actively tried to prevent it by putting George on Baron. Baron posted up Terry on one of the first possessions, Howard came to double, and Barnes ended up with an open 3. That was the last time I saw a Dallas PG defend Baron, except in transition/switches. Avery crossmatched George on Davis, which led to an entirely different set of problems. So even though it didn't happen much, the threat of it led to a GS advantage.

For everyone saying "The Spurs got unlucky, played their worst when the Nugs played their best"....

The Nugs had 18 turnovers leading to 25 points or so. The bench was horrible, Camby took too many jumpers, and we still won.

The big 3 for San Antonio went 11-19 in the 2nd half and they still got outscored.

Do I think the Nugs will win the series? No. Do I think that they could win the series? Absolutely. The Nuggets still can improve their game and give the team lots of grief.

Mavs in 6, Spurs in 7 would be my predictions at this very moment. If the Nuggets win tonight they'll be the faovrites to win the series IMO.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought they like to back-up opposing guards to about the 15ft range, and work from there. I guess this is further than where traditional post players like to work from, but I think it's still effective.

Other than that, I'm not really sure why GSW could give the Mavs so much trouble. Maybe it's their defensive schemes against Dirk, who seems like he often plays sub-par against them.

[/ QUOTE ]
It's def how they play little guys against Dirk, who has trouble putting the ball on the floor against quicker opponents, but Dallas has other guys like Terry that should be able to penetrate and get a pass off to Dirk for open looks. Mavs in 6

I try to be objective about my Nuggets, but I really believe the Spurs are in trouble. They won the game, but got outworked and outplayed. I don't think they will be able to keep up with the Nugs this series, who have finally figured out the Spurs D.

They've just got to make those damn lay-ups.

My prediction- Nugs with their next two.

I'm objective and I still think the Spurs are going to win in 7.

Neither team has played their best yet. I cannot believe we were a Camby dunk away from being down by 1 yesterday with a minute left.

The Nuggets have to win the next two I think to win the series. If not, i think the Spurs win it. Either way, it's been a fun/close competition and Nene is growing up and it's REALLY exciting.

The Dallas game on the other hand, I did think they just missed lots of easy shots that they'd normally make. I mean they were bricking open layups. They SHOULD bounce back and win the series in five or six games but they have a history of going horribly cold on offense at the wrong time, so you never know. I'd put them at about 80-20 to win the series.

[/ QUOTE ]

Obviously I forgot to take into account that Dallas doesn't normally make those shots in the playoffs. Dirk plays like a scared little girl in big games.

I would say Toronto. And then Dallas.
