By swapping with Atlanta, they threw away any chance of picking LaRon Landry. They have to go BPA which could be Jamal Anderson, Okoye, Reggie Nelson, Adam Carriker, Darrelle Revis.

I don't like Levi Brown, but others value him as a top 10 pick, so he's a good possibility.

Their's speculation that Alan Branch's is slidding later into the 1st round. He was always been knocked for taking plays off and being lazy. Apparently he didn't interview very well either and he's not the brightest apple.

I honestly think the Texans are not THAT far away from being decent. They still have holes at just about every positiong, but they did win 6 games last year. If they could just get a decent left tackle to protect Schaub a little bit, and if Schaub is an average QB, they could easily finish 8-8 and possibly steal one to get in the playoff picture.

Apparently he's dropped out of the first round according to Mel Kiper's big board, any idea if that's true?

The problem is where do they get him? It rarely works when teams start trying to move someone from right tackle or guard. It's a position you generally want to draft for and then keep the guy for 10 years. Left tackle is a very hard position to play, and there aren't that many good left tackles around, much less available.

The only really good tackle in the draft is Joe Thomas and there's no way they'll be able to move up to get him. That's why I wouldn't mind seeing them take Levi Brown even though with a #10 you really should always draft BPA. Sure he's not perfect, but he'd be a project player that might develop. Otherwise, they're stuck hoping to find someone like Tony Ugoh falling to the third round (which he won't). Spending that second round pick will really hurt them in trying to find that LT this year.

I don't think they realistically could have even gotten a late round pick for Carr... it was pretty obvious that they were going to have to cut him if they couldn't get a trade done and that usually means you aren't going to get a trade done. Also, no one wanted to take on his 5-6mil salary.

They also cut Domanick Williams... Funny that those two guys were supposed to be 2 of the main 3 guys on their offense a year ago.

True, but if someone wanted him enough to not want to compete for him as a free agent they might have given up a late pick.

By cutting Carr they just cost themselves another $2M in cap space.

Great organization.
