Hitting a female is obviously wrong no matter what

[/ QUOTE ]

Can you give one reason why this is true?

Even if she chases you down on a 2 outer for a small pot?

gump,

What I meant by anwering, "don't date psycho's that hit you," is that by doing this you are most likely in a relationship with a person that respects you and when you are in this kind of relationship you will be in a household that you want. My response actually had nothing to do with violence but about the women you bring into your home.

shed still have the capability to knock your ass out

Alobar,

Assuming we're talking average woman as in less than 150 and the most "lifting" she does is something along the lines of pilates, do you really think this is true? I've never been knocked out, so maybe I'm way off on how precise of a punch it takes to just lay someone out.

[/ QUOTE ]

I dont think shes gunna knock you out with a straight right or something. But an average woman definitely has the power to knock a man out. Its likely gunna come from her legs, which means its not super likely. But my whole point was that I think most men vastly underestimate how much damage an adult woman could do to them, and how hard it would be to just play defense and not get hurt against 140 pounds of crazy fury.

Gump:

I did see your response, I just didn't understand it. I think it's solid advice and I agree with it with regards to violence in the home. I was thinking more along the lines of attitudes about things like "Do I want my wife to stay at home, if possible? Should she be responsible for the bulk of the household chores?" and things of that nature.

[/ QUOTE ]

Would guess there's a decent correlation between the attitudes you mention, and taking the attitude "don't ever hit chicks, ever".

I think what I'm getting at, in my previous post, could be found in the broad definition of the term "chivalry".

FWIW - I don't think I'm particularly enlightened guy, but I have a strong preference to be with / marry a woman who has a great career, her own friends, and also as far as household stuff, to me that's a time management issue (whoever is home more does more).

Food for thought maybe (IM with my female friend):

Aloysius: chivalry is dead?
Chick: i don't know. i don't know how i feel about the male as the caretaker. i think it's very easy for women to fall subconsciously into a caretaker role themselves: fetching things, cooking, running the household, raising kids ... and the male falls into the role of being provider.
Chick: chivalry, not dead.
Chick: totally not dead.
Chick: it's just that the mores of our society keep men in "boy" phase, rather than encouraging them to become "men".
Chick: same for chicks, too.
Chick: i don't think anyone who lives in a metropolitan area is in a hurry to "grow up", so to speak. to live a life of responsibility and commitment.
Chick: speaking in GROSS generalizations.

I punched my mother the face because she wouldn't by me candy bar.

I once beat my sister with 2x4 for reason I can't remember.

If you don't beat women, they will walk all over you. It's their nature. Women are genetically evolved to respect getting beat. Beat them all. The person in the adjacent office is a woman, and I am going to beat her after work.

LOL...misogynistaments.

I found this quote to be hillarious.

The way to fight a woman is with your hat.

I don't see anything wrong with a backhand or two when the bich gets out of line, especially if it's your wife. Sometimes words just aren't enough- how are you going to gain her respect if she doesn't fear you? I think it is best to rule with a heavy hand.
