world of warcraft stole about a year from me and several potential jobs and my girlfriend at the time
i needed an intervention to stop playing and i got a job now where i have no free time so haven't played much in a while i used to run tournaments at a local arcade (8 on the break if anyones in NJ and been there) for marvel vs capcom 2 every thursday from 6pm-midnight for 3 years and went to htem before i hosted it so insane amount of time into that game

When I was a kid we would play Street Fighter 2 CE on Genesis whenever the weather was crappy outside. 500 hours plus.
In high school we used to smoke weed and play Soul Calibur all day everyday for like 9 months straight. I did the math once on how much time we must have wasted playing that game and it was way over 500, closer to 750 total hours played.

Your parents? What happened, and did you live on your own at that time? I would really like to hear about this.

[/ QUOTE ] I have over 1000 hours logged on WoW, I don't think another game comes close. Counter-Strike in second but very distant. I'd like to hear about this intervention as well.

MVP 2004 easily. 2 complete seasons, simming only against Tampa because I hated the camera angle in their stadium. Figure 45 minutes a game, approximately 170 games each season with playoffs, approximately 255 hours of play time in a single summer. I guess that's only about 15 hours a week, nothing compared to WoW addicts, but it's my record.

I beat Mario 64, got all 120 stars and Super Mario Land. Not sure how many levels there were. Had over 300 games of Madden 2005 for PS2 on my profile. Not exactly sure how to figure out the hours, but after I started playing poker, video games kinda went down the hill.

Warcraft II, perhaps 3000 hours
Played on Kali ~200 hours/month for well over a year. Possibly played more like 4000 hours. Starcraft, 1000 hours Played a ton, especially prior to Brood War, and during the Brood War beta. Day of Defeat, 700 hours Never played an insane number of hours/week, but played occasionally for several years. Quake 2, 500 hours Spent a lot of time in Quake 2 CTF.
