You've gotta throw in some hands you're ahead of, otherwise it's a totally moot point, just fold.

Edit: but if your point is that having 2 outs is better than having no outs, of course I agree. But if you know he has only 44/33 you just fold obviously, so the point I'm making is that he has to have SOME other possible hands, and having 43 yourself makes his having those hands more likely. Anyways, this is a stupid discussion.

this also isnt a spot where he has a range necessarily. either he has it, or he doesn't have it. 'it' is probably 44 in this spot too, i cant see him doing this with 33 ever.

fine, agreed. i'd probably fold 44 here, too, if he's really been playing as tight over-his-head as he says. he can only have QQ if I have 44.

65h maybe. its a way better play with a draw than it is with bottom set.

Everybody remember in the future on A28 flops that 28 is a MUCH HARDER laydown than A8 because of the blockers!

Let me know next time you play with a guy who fits this description:
"[I have been] check calling down in EP with AK when it hits, check, calling down on the button with a flopped set, etc.) I have also told the players at the table that I have laid down hands as good as top set when a scare card hit on the turn... I have not shown down a bluff in 10 hours."

uhhhhhhhhhhh regardless of the player's description your point doesnt make any sense. unless you include "misreading his hand" in his range which is pretty dumb

buddy, just lay down A8 and 28 if he always has a set, ok? then we're both happy.

Every time he folded I would pick up ~$3000 that was in the pot, every time that he called I would win 1/3 of the time when my flush hit.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is incorrect. If you are called, he is going to have a set a vast majority of the time and you will only win slightly more than 1/4 of that time due to redraws.
