Also, Lamarcus Aldridge only benched 185 lbs. 8 times. WTF? [/ QUOTE ] WTF indeed, where did you read that? Alternative strategy for LaMarcus: Hire someone to work out for him |

[ QUOTE ] Darko still can't be counted as a bust- he put up pretty decent # w/ Orlando in 30 games while still not understanding the system). [/ QUOTE ] Yeah... if anything he should've gone higher that year? [/ QUOTE ] Darko just turned 21 and has played 1200 minutes, with about half of that being garbage time. Hold that draft today, Darko still goes 5 or 6 (behind Lebron, Wade, Bosh and Melo, and yes, a good number of NBA teams would STILL take Darko over Howard and almost every GM in the league takes him above Barbosa, Diaw, Hinrich and Ford). If Darko as a 20 year old comes out in this year's draft, he is the #1 overall draft pick, no questions about it, with teams trading up to get him. Detroit was wrong place, wrong time for him. To this point in his career, in comparable minutes, at a younger age, Darko has been a BETTER play than Dirk was as a 20 year old. Will he be a better player than Dirk in the long run? Not likely. Did Orlando fleece the Pistons in getting Darko for what they did? Without question. Is it time to close the book on his career? No way. In the roughly 20 minutes per game he got w/ Orlando, he's already proven himself to be an excellent off-ball defender, a pretty good rebounder, a good shooter, and he's not a horrible turnover liability. Darko's future is still very, very bright, and anyone who tells you different a) didn't watch Magic games and b) doesn't understand player development in this league. |

Darko is solid... if u look @ his overall game he's beginning to develop into a solid overall player... he is a good defender and rebounder like an earlier poster already stated, and on top of that he has a very good jumper, and is develolping a post game.... when it's all said and done he may end up being the 3rd best player in that draft behind Wade and Lebron.... I'm not saying he's better then Carmello or Bosh yet, but he very well may turn out to be....
As for Marcus Williams being overated, ur 100% wrong... Marcus Williams is gonna end up being the best pro otu of anyone in this draft... his court vision is reminiscent of Pepe Sanchez or Steve Blake, and his ability to lead during pressure situations is superb... sure he's had some off court problems, and he's not the brightest guy in the world, but he's gonna be a very solid pro PG for years to come |

Not exactly sure about all your points but Howard is a much more polished player than Darko. Darko might have slightly more upside but if I were to redraft today he should be taken fifth. Personally I take Diaw over him as well but that's just a personal preference. Diaw has great court vision, and averaged what 6 assists per game (amazing). I thought it was funny when some Sun fans said he was Magic Johnsonesque but he looked that way at times as an excellent big man passer.
1. Lebron 2. Wade 3. Bosh 4. Melo 5. Howard 6. Diaw 7. Hinrich 8. Darko(still questionable) 9. Ridnour 10. Kaman 11. West 12. Barbosa 13. Banks 14. Collison 15. Mo Williams 16. Cook/Korver |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] i don't get the all the JJ Reddick hate. The guy can stroke it from anywhere on the court... even if nothing else he does translates to the NBA, there's always a place for good shooters. I see him as a very safe pick and someone who can have an immediate impact. [/ QUOTE ] There's no place for a guy who's undersized at 2, not a good enough ballhandler or quick enough for the 1, can't guard his lunch, can't create his own shot and won't have the refs swinging from his jock strap. NT [/ QUOTE ] Hmmm. Except for... Steve Kerr (5 NBA titles IIRC) Everyone named Paxson B.J. Armstrong (3 titles?) Anthony Peeler Jon Barry Dell Curry Hubert Davis ...guys like that. [/ QUOTE ] So you are saying he is a 2nd round darft pick? |
