I'm just in a pissy mood today. My hack work in this thread wasn't meant to be a bitchfest between NT and I, but more of an observation that there aren't any new posters filling in the holes from older vets posting less frequently, hence lower volume + less quality. We all have our own theories on why this might be, I'm sure.

bah, I like skunkworks, so it makes me sad that he's found OOT lacking lately, but:

I think the bigger problem is the way the forum splits have eviscerated the place. It feels like a lot of people bring their better ideas elsewhere, and the group of "regular" OOT posters is much smaller than it has been in the past. Having said that, though, I feel that we have a really good group of regular posters in OOT, and if it lulls right now, well, there hasn't been any particularly interesting / major drama lately, and maybe there's just not that much worth talking about right now.

nath, I think the forum split had a lot to do with losing new posters to other forums, but OOT has been losing a disproportionate amount lately.

When was the last time we did a thread about up-and-coming OOT posters? I think putting the spotlight on some newer posters might encourage more to contribute. Also, not scaring them off would help too.
