Re: What\'s your scene like?
[ QUOTE ]
Thank you. Much appreciated. Amazing the difference when I decided to build a table. Used to be an old octagon that I resurfaced to match the pool table and some crappy chairs. The wife was a little skeptical when I told her "I" was going to build one. lol. She pretty much thought it would be something we brought out when we were going to have a game. She plays too. Anyway, she was quite surprised at how good the table turned out. The taps are still my favorite part of the basement!!!! [/ QUOTE ] Awesome room. Awesome table. Very nice. Taps good..handles, eh, not so good.....lol |

Here is my setup. I like seeing other peoples as well. Keep posting. I built the table top. I have it sitting on a dining table. I also built the drink stands. Building a table is much simpler than I would have thought. ScottKeen.com has a lot of very helpful info. [/ QUOTE ] You are the man, I can tell just from these pictures. Awesome setup. Although I'd have gone with a darker feel (dark blue felt maybe) but that's just my jazzy instincts kicking in. Really nice setup. |

Thanks Taso.....
I actually agree with you that the darker felt looks better. However, I have camel colored felt on my pool table so I went with the tan suited speed cloth for the poker table. The colors in the picture are not a good reference though. The walls are much more subtle and the table felt and rails are darker than they appear. From a color standpoint the pictures didn't turn out that well.
For what it's worth, suited speed cloth rocks! Cards slide from one end to the other with absolute ease. I also made the racetrack smaller (not as wide) as most of the plans so the playing surface was as big as possible. I like the looks of the racetrack but if they are too wide I hate playing on them. This one is just about right. Enough room for your chips but you can keep your cards on the playing surface with no issues. So, kept the wife happy with the looks part and kept me happy with the playability aspect. Thanks again for the kind comments. |

Re: Thanks Taso.....
I got my table this past weekend, and I have my basement mostly finished. Some of these pictures didn't turn out the greatest, but I don't feel like retaking them:

That is the biggest flat screen TV I have ever seen in my life. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, it's definitely good-sized: Mitsubishi 73-inch WD-73833. It's like 15 feet away from the couch though, so it's not really *too* big for the room. |
