We taught a lion to eat tofu. [/ QUOTE ] the fact you had to teach it is what makes me believe that vegans being healthier is BS. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The kid died of malnutrition period. From things I've read, fruits and vegitables contain all of the nutrients your body needs. [/ QUOTE ] No, they don't. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, they do. The only nutrient that a vegan diet lacks is vitamin B12, but we don't need to injest it in food because it is produced by bacteria in our intestine. [/ QUOTE ] You're right. Animal proteins provide all the essential amino acids for humans, but plants are incomplete individually. You have to know what you're doing when you turn vegan by combining the right foods to provide a complete amino acid profile. You don't need to know what you're doing as a meat eater to get complete amino acids. The dude I was quoting is very likely to have no clue, either do I, that's why I eat delicious flesh. Here's some quick references: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essential_amino_acid http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complete_protein |

[ QUOTE ]
“Vegetarians and their Hezbollah splinter faction, the vegans, are a persistant irritant to any chef worth a damn. To me, life without veal, stock, pork fat, sausage, organ meat, demiglace, or even stinky cheese is not a life worth living.” “Vegetarians are the enemy of everything good and decent in the human spirit, an affront to all I stand for, the pure enjoyment of food” - Anthony Bourdain [/ QUOTE ] QFT, also KKF rules. |
