I loved X-Men 2 so much, thought it was a near flawless comic book movie

When I heard Ratner was taking over I was saddened, but still thought he couldn't screw it up that bad

But he did

Pirates 2 was pretty much the same feeling, but not quite as disappointing

P.S. This is a good topic

Ah yes, XMen 3. Forget Superman Returns. XMen 3 is a whole different level of suck.

I submit Highlander 2.

It ruined the first movie even before the opening credits even ran .. they were ALIENS? WTF? And then a laser gun fight where you could see the guys jumping off of kick plates to launch them into the air. Who could forget Michael Ironside in the subway ... who knew that the subway could go ludicrous speed if you just kept turning that handle?

[/ QUOTE ]

I submit Highlander 3.

Totally invalidated the second movie + starred Mario Van Peebles

FTW!

True that was terrible as well but the damage was already done and you couldn't really expect that it would not suck. They were trying to save the concept "let's forget that 2 ever happened and try again"

I see some replies where people have said Rocky V .. how could you have any expectation of that other than it would suck donkey balls?

The point is that it had to be a movie that you had high hopes for and it ended up being terrible.

A+ for Mario Van Peebles pic though.

Ocean's 12 was probalby the most personally dissapointing. 11 just ruled, and 12 really had no good reason for sucking, but they just missed on almost everything.

so many people hate Oceans 12, and I don't get it. It's not a great movie or as good as 11, but it's entertaining and pretty good on it's own.

I don't this compares at all to Rocky V, which was so dreadful you never ever see it on TV/cable.

Zod,

Oceans 11s was like the perfect bubblegum movie. It just rolled by on mood and vibe and reasonably good acting. The soundtrack, the camera work, everything just blended. It was one of the smoothest movies I've seen.

12 basically stuck with all of the less than awesome elements of 11 and totally lost that vibe and that smoothness (also the plot was a lot more contrived and the "twist" was tardzo). It's not so much that 12 was bad, it's just that it was really agressively NOT like 11, and different was not what we were looking for.

yes, but most disappointing movie EVER?

are you telling me that Rocky V is closer to Rocky IV than Oceans 12 is to Oceans 11?

or that The Phantom Menace, compared to the original trilogy, was a disappointment, but boy Oceans 12 takes the cake?

I said personally dissapointing. That's the movie that I was really excited to see that pissed me off.

I've never been a Rocky fan, and had zero expectations that the Star Wars movies would be any good (in part because the originals were pretty [censored] in retrospect).
