When you were born, you were the only one in the room crying and everybody else was smiling. Live your life so, that when you die, you will be the only one in the room smiling and everybody else will be crying.

Didn't actually help me, but more of a 'always try and be nice' kind of reminder.

Theres a quote from Barry Greenstein at the back of his book which escapes me at the moment (if anyone could quote it directly that would be fantastic) -- it's basically along the lines of "Do not use money as a goal but use money as a tool to achieve your goals"
