I love that song but that cover kinda sucks. I've heard much better covers recently by alt bands, trying to think of who it was exactly. It sounds way better with a female singer.

I think people really love or really hate the White Stripes cover. I just love how they really made that song their own which is what a cover really should be. Although it is a little weird hearing a guy sing from a females' first perspective.

In terms of covers for that song Mindy Smith does a nice version, I'd love to hear another alt version if you can think of it.

Paula Cole does an AMAZING cover of Jolene. There are different versions of it, but the best is one I've heard on a CD I have around somewhere -- I'll have to find it and upload it.

I love singer-songwriter type music a lot but for some reason I never got into Lamontaigne. His stuff just kinda bores me.
