[ QUOTE ] predator06 journeyman *** You are ignoring this user *** [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] livejournal ban_list predator06 [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] This really tears me up...I can't read anymore about your 1ptbb/100 success. Your personal insults dont bother me in the least. They just make me more aware that you cant find a way to do it about my poker game. Are you sure you want to add to the dozens of BREAL haters that were gonna rip off your head of the the WSOP? And to think that I'm one of the ones that stuck up for you. haha |

Yah Dave...terrible strategy...here is this month. Maybe one day I'll explain the concept of Expected Value to you [/ QUOTE ] Incidentally, I notice that the graph program lists BB/100s and not PTBB/100s. In otherwords to get your PTBB/100 (which I think is what everyone is talking about here) you have to divide the graph figure by 2. SOOOO....Pred do you run at >6 BB/100s or >6 PTBB/100s? |

I suppose that the smack talk was inevitable. I'm surprised it took this long.
Let the games begin. |

[ QUOTE ] Out of curiousity, do you know for a fact that he is no longer a winning player. I rarely see him playing, and I do agree to some degree that he benefitted from weak players at the higher limits, but even at full-ring he was better than a lot of "winning" players I see regularly. And I have no doubt that he could win at SH PL08 against practically anyone. [/ QUOTE ] the guy (wintermute) has a good habit of pissing me off, but i've never argued that he can and did totally dominate online PLO8. In my opinion, the obvious criteria for World's Best O8 Player includes live LO8, online LO8, online PLO8, and short-handed play also. it takes a broad skill set to steadily dominate in both fixed limit and big bet games. i've heard that annie duke is very good, same goes for negreanu. someone should PM this thread to Barry Greenstein, he obv plays in the big mixed game, and also has a little knowledge of the world of online poker. he could probably spit out some good overall candidates. [/ QUOTE ] Disregarding limit which I don't know much about, I'd gladly take the best online players over the more famous guys. |

Re: Who is the best Omaha 8 player in the world?
I'm loving this thread already. A few questions:
What exactly happened with DAve at the WSOP that everyone is talking about? You mean to tell me that there were PLO8 cash games during the WSOP? What stakes? What online stakes was the level of competition comparable to? If its anything like HE(where live $1/2 plays like online $.05/$.1) then I can't wait for next summer since I'm living in Vegas now. Am I the only one not that impressed with any consecutive winning month streak? I mean, I guess it depends upon what stakes you're playing, but I couldn't imagine having a losing month if you played a lot at $5/10 and lower and practiced decent table selection in the $3/6 and $5/10 games and whenever playing shorthanded. As for the original intent of this thread, I'd be very interested if people could not only list the top online players(like Dave did), but also say what traits make them so good. I ask this because I think I've come to a plateau regarding my own improvement, and I don't know what else exactly to do to get better.....I just recently started playing O8(about 2 months ago, although I did mess around in it at the end of last summer too) and I think I've got a very solid foundation for my game that is clearly a big winner at $2/4 and below, I think I'm a winner at $3/6 but I don't have a large enough sample size yet, and I've lost so far at $5/10 but also don't have a large sample size....Clearly I realize that I can improve, but I don't know exactly where. |
