I live in the next village to the McCann family - you know, the family of the little girl who disappeared. I drove through that village the other day, and noticed two paperazzi camped out on the pavement on chairs, and two policemen standing near them.

It was a shock to see such a thing in a quiet English village. My wife tells me they're there 24 hours a day.

Well, db, if I pull this mofo off, I do get a most-expenses-paid trip to San Diego Oct. 22-24 to present what I've done. Sure, I'll be inside listening to talks for most of the day, but I plan on drinking heavily on someone else's tab each night and enjoying what I can of the city. In addition to the satisfaction of a job well done, that's not a bad carrot to have in front of me, even if it does require coding in fortran.
