Default Greatest Comic Movie of All Time - Nominations Thread

Time for another one of these polls. I had a heated discussion with a friend who finds The Hulk the worst comic book movie adaptation ever, while I think it's mediocre but not nearly at the bottom of the list. Anyway, let me hear all the comic book movies you guys can think of. As usual I'll be doing a March Madness style tourney with 64 entrants.

My initial nomination:

The Hulk.

Sin City, if we're not just counting superhero movies (which would be pretty stupid imo).

Technically I would say anything that was a comic book/graphic novel and turned into a movie would qualify, whether the characters have super powers or not.

I haven't seen American Splendor, but from my quick reading up it seems it isn't based on a comic book, rather inspired by Robert Crumb and featuring a character who writes and acts in a comic book somehow.

Cool World would qualify if there was a Cool World comic book before the movie.

x-men

superman (reeve & hackman flavor)
the new superman (spacey flavor)

the punisher (never saw it)

that's all I got.

swede: American Splendor was based on the comic of the same name. It was autobiographical, and much of the style of the movie (shots, colors etc) were lifted directly from the book.

So Ghost World and AS are my two favorties so far.

More to come...
