Re: Best Cover Songs
One of the very few cover songs that i believe is better than the original is Fiona Apple's version of the Beatles - across the universe.

Re: Best Cover Songs
I used to have a tape of Pearl Jam covers that were all pretty good. I liked Beast of Burden,Baba O'Riley and The Kids are Alright. It was interesting to hear their version of Dock of the Bay.

Re: Best Cover Songs
Oh...my ...GOD. Are you KIDDING?
I know you said you get flamed for it but my god. That is an AWFUL HORRIBLE re-make that should have never happened. Yelling stuff at the top of your lungs doesn't make stuff good. The way the new version is sung is so vastly obnoxious that a part of me dies. I mean I'm glad the song brings you pleasure, but Please please reconsider. I just can't have people going around saying Shinedowns version is better. Just cant have it! |

Re: Best Cover Songs
The versions of 'Mustang Sally' and 'Midnight Hour' in The Commitments are excellent. Urge Overkill's cover of 'Girl, you'll be a woman soon' is superb as well. All three originals are good, but the covers are way better IMO.

This thread should end here. Jerry C - Canon Rock [/ QUOTE ] But it won't, because electric guitar + some shredder + classical music = crap. |

Re: Best Cover Songs
FYI, Rush is releasing a new album full of covers. I've only heard a couple of the songs but they are pretty tight.
