From one of the greatest computer games of all time: Carrier Command, published in 1988. The fighers that operate from those carriers are called Mantas, and I've used the nick in computer related activites since the late 1980's.

i got an email from a holdempoker.com when i was a play money player back in the day. They sent an email saying
Will, Come experience...... i was tired and stoned and read it all blurred together as xwillience. used it to register at poker room that same night and never looked back.

A home game I used to play in had a terrible LAG who would chase every draw. When he lost (which was often), he would always say, "You understand I had to call, I was four to it."
"I was 4_2_it" became a catch phrase among our group. I have been using it online ever since.
